About the Provence day trip: walking in Buoux & Luberon - Easy
About the guided day trip in the Luberon
Group rate for 4 persons ( contact us if less or more)
You guided walking day start in Buoux, in the heart of the Luberon, in the beautiful Aiguebrun valley at the Seguins BB. The river runs in a cove at the foot of Buoux' cliff - famous among rock-climbers - guided by the great rift separating the Petit and Grand Luberon.
You take a centuries-old cobbled mule track through a forest of white oak, and you quickly rise above the gorge below. You continue atop the scenic ridges, laden with aromatic herbs such as thyme and winter savory.
You reach the village of Sivergues , just a handful of homes huddled together and lost in the far reaches of the Luberon mountains. After a leisurely Provençal picnic we return to the depths of the Aiguebrun gorge. The vegetation is lush: boxwood grows as tall as trees and giant ivy, with its roots set in the canyon, climb the majestic limestone walls in search of the light.
Optional : We return to the Auberge des Seguins before embarking on an optional visit of the 3000 year-old Buoux Fort, witness to the passing of several different civilizations that sought refuge atop a perilous, rocky crag.
