About the Provence day trip: walking in St Remy - Moderate

About the guided day trip in St Remy de Provence

Group rate for 4 persons ( contact us if less or more)

Your Provence day trip  and hike begins in the center of Saint Remy de Provence. You climb up a scenic botanical path through the heart of the Alpilles Mountains. With your guide, you head up to the picturesque crest of the jagged limestone hills. On a clear day the Mediterranean is visible to the south, while Mont Ventoux paints the backdrop to the north. We take a spectacular narrow footpath that follows the top of the jagged limestone crags, with continuous stunning views in all directions. There is some light scrambling, though no dangers involved.

After a typical Provence picnic atop the crest, you begin the descent back to the plains and visit the monastery St Paul de Mausole that Vincent Van Gogh called home the last year of his life. You return to Saint Remy where – depending on the day of week and the season – we taste some of the region’s prized olive oil.

  • Loop Walk - St Remy > Crest of the Alpilles > St Remy
    5 hours 30 to 6 hours - 18km / 12 miles - Ascent: +550 m / Descent: -550 m
  • You meet your guide in the centre of St remy and start your hiking day towards the Alpilles mountain range.
  • Depending on our pace, we will be back in Saint Rémy and finished by 4 to 5 pm.
